A way home for the children of Bucharest's streets

Since the 1990s, Archway has gone where the children are: abandoned buildings, heating tunnels and cardboard shelters. We bring food, clothes, school supplies and medicine, and we keep coming back.

Help that changes what tomorrow looks like

Through Social Street Support we follow the same children and families month after month.

Who we help

Keeping children in school

We buy school supplies so no child skips class, or drops out because they have to beg to support their family.

Identity papers

We pay for the papers a child needs to enroll in school and to see a doctor. Without them, a child officially does not exist.

Support for parents

We counsel parents on finding work, so they can provide for their children safely, with some of the benefits a child with papers has.

Monthly care packages

Food, clothing, shoes, medicine and hygiene products, delivered every month to the families our volunteers follow.

Moments that matter

Susan Booth with Radu, one of the first children Archway helped

Barbara was crying, I was crying, and I decided right then and there that the whole situation was against the laws of God and should have been against the laws of man.

Susan Booth, founder and president. In the early 1990s, a 20/20 segment on Romania's abandoned children changed her life; a few years later she was walking the streets of Bucharest. Read Susan's story
